Lou Mouw is an artist and researcher based in Stockholm. His films, exhibitions and texts look at how ownership, rent and public policy shape the places where art and memory are made.
He trained as an artist in Berlin and Copenhagen and then studied business in Stockholm. The two halves feed each other. The films and installations deal with housing, architecture and the memory of war. The research looks at the money and the coordination work behind cultural life: who pays for the rooms where art happens, and who keeps them running.
Since 2021 he has run the studios and the exhibition programme at Platform Stockholm, a collective of 130 artists in Lövholmen, where he is Head of Programme & Operations and curates part of the exhibition programme.

The film They Know We Know They Lie, about Swedish housing turning into a financial product, led to studying economics. The thesis at the Stockholm School of Economics took the question back to the art world: who carries the work that keeps collaborative culture running.
